This isn't really the most easiest class so you better pay attention. In this class you will learn about symbols that involves translating something written in runes into English.

Arthmancy is a branch of magic that is concerned with the magical properties of numbers; someone who practices Arithmancy is called an Arithmancer. For example, in the 1200s, Bridget Wenlock, a famous Arithmancer, discovered the magical properties of the number seven.

Most of the classes will be held here reading charts of starts and understanding them. Some nights you will be meeting at the Astronomy Tower at midnight because that's the best time to look at the stars.

The head boy and girl gets their own common room. Just like the regular common rooms they will have their own bedroom with the common room joining them. It will be decorated in both house colors.

This is a magical room which can only be discovered by someone who is in need. It is called the Come and Go Room by the house-elves of Hogwarts. The room is located on the seventh floor, opposite a tapestry showing Barnabas the Barmy trying to teach trolls to dance the ballet. To make the Room appear, a person has to walk past the section of blank wall three times concentrating hard on what is needed.

The library contains tens of thousands of books on thousands of shelves. Included in it's many sections is an Invisibility Section, a section with information about dragons, and a Restricted Section at the back, set off with a rope. A signed note from a teacher is required to peruse that section of the library; it contains books of Dark Magic only used by older students studying advanced Defence Against the Dark Arts.
